What would you do to possess unlimited knowledge and power?

Nineteen year-old Alice McArthur never had a choice. A shy girl from a small town, Alice has gained a reputation for her near-genius programming abilities, even getting the attention of EngineerCorp, a rising electronics empire. With her unique skill-set she is hand-picked to test their network security by hacking into their global mainframe.

But something goes terribly wrong.

The next thing Alice knows, she wakes up on the floor with a migraine, unnatural powers, a server’s worth of data in her head and the realization that this job was not what it seemed.

Now a fugitive from justice and on the run from the evil leader of a corporate empire, Alice doesn’t know who to trust or where to turn. She must find a way to secure her freedom and stop those who would keep her prisoner for life — or worse.

Alice McArthur
19-year old Alice McArthur can be considered somewhat of a genius…not that she would admit it to anyone else. Although most people would consider her attractive with rich mahogany colored waves, deep brown eyes and petite frame… most people did not seem to notice her. Alice preferred the isolation, even accepting a job as a programmer in the rural town of Asheville, North Carolina.

She is no stranger to tragedy; her parents died just after she graduated college at age 18 in an ill-fated car accident. Despite her grief, Alice has done well for herself. She’s got her own place and has built up quite a name for herself in the programming/hacking world. It is because of those skills that Alice finds herself in midst of unparalleled circumstances that occur in “Mind Trace.”

Eric Martin

Like someone off the cover of a GQ magazine, Eric Martin is the epitome of the ideal man with one major exception: his excessive arrogance. Physically, he is breathtaking… in the cowering-scared-kind-of-breathtaking way. It is almost as if an aura of power surrounds him in his crisp, perfectly-fitted Armani suits. One look into his steely gray-blue eyes would make even the most confident person reconsider their position.

The president and CEO of EngineerCorp, the leading technical corporation on the entire planet, Eric can afford to be as egotistical as he desires. Eric’s position was not casually given to him; it was because of his brilliant mind and great ambition that he earned his lofty title and all the power that came with it.

Garrett Wiggins
A down-to-earth, intelligent and witty guy, Garrett Wiggins is liked by most people with hardly any effort at all. In his late twenties, his honey colored eyes and slightly tousled dark hair complemented his tall, athletic build. Garrett is prone to sarcasm, but it is usually so subtle that it is only known by the ever-so-slight crinkling of his eyes.

Garrett is the owner and founder of Cyberconn, once a competitor for EngineerCorp. Victim to corporate sabotage at the hands of EngineerCorp, Garrett’s company is now all but bankrupt as he works as hard as possible to keep it from sinking. His resourcefulness and intelligence allow him to stay in business, but he feels it is only a matter of time before he must shut the doors — permanently. Desperate, Garrett tries one last attempt to level the playing field…

Grant Finnigan
Grant Finnigan is Eric’s “right-hand man.” Physically, he is more than capable of protecting Eric from any danger that should arise. Although parts of his face are wrinkled, his body is in excellent condition with powerful, thickly muscled arms. One look at his face would be enough to know that this man is not someone to mess with.

Forty-three years of age, Grant is an Ex-Navy SEAL, decorated with more awards and achievements than even he can recall. He started working for Eric when the company was founded. He is the only person alive that Eric will seek advice from and is completely loyal to his employer.
